A clip is a plain text snippet.
A clip can have a name, a ‘key’ and tags.
Clip Name
The name of a clip will be displayed in the table with search results in the clients.
Clip Key
The clip-key can be used as a unique handle to quickly find it.
For example, if you have two signatures that you both use regularly, (a personal and a company signature),
you can assign the clip-keys ‘sigp’ and ‘sigc’ to those and quickly access those by searching for ‘sigp’ or ‘sigc’.
Clip Tags
The tags can be used to assign the clip to certain categories (eg. ‘shipping’, ‘orders’, ‘manual’ etc.)
Searching
Whenever you change the search term the search results will be updated.
The available clips are being search by ‘key’, name and tags.
Projects and Teams
A clip is saved within a project. Projects can be used to differentiate between different sets of clips (e.g. for different products you provide or for diffferent languages you support).
The Windows and Mac client allow the user to toggle the projects that are being searched.
A project belongs to a team, all the team-members can access the clips in all the projects within that team. Team members can update and create clips, these clip are immediately available to all other team members.
Zendesk properties
Whenever a clip is pasted using the Zendesk app the following zendesk properties (if set) are also assigned to the current zendesk ticket:
- Status (Open / Pending / Solved)
- Priority (Low / Normal / High / Urgent)
- Type (Question / Incident / Problem / Task)
- Assignee (Current User)
- Tags
